For the past 35 years, Battery Dance Company has been performing on the world’s stages, teaching, presenting, and advocating for the field of dance. Battery Dance Company is dedicated to the pursuit of artistic excellence and the availability of the Arts to everyone. An integral part of the fabric of New York City for 35 years, Battery supports the creative process; educates children in the New York City schools; organize events and performances to a wider audience, introducing the author’s educational program in the framework of international touring and initiatives for the exchange of artistic experiences.
Battery Dance Company has produced nearly 100 original dances, choreographed by its founder and artistic director Jonathan Hollander, in collaboration with a diverse array of composers and designers, and its cast of outstanding dancers. Battery’s repertoire reveals a wide thematic and stylistic range. Battery performances are characterized by choreography and music inspired by worldwide sources, reflecting American society and its multiplicity of cultures. Musical accompaniment, specially written to accompany the performances in live., is a hallmark of the Company.
At a festival «the ArtOvrag 2012» the Battery Dance Company team will carry out a series of the master-classes within their Dancing to connect (DTC) program, awarded sets of awards. The DTC program is aimed at stimulation of creative activity and command spirit of young people by means of unique the art expert of modern dance.
